In Memphis the challenge of vacant, abandoned and tax delinquent property has reached unprecedented numbers. With over 34,000 intractable properties across the County and with the vast majority concentrated within the city limits, organizations representing the private, public and nonprofit sectors have joined forces to combat the common enemy of blight.
The complex issues surrounding blighted property have compelled government agencies, neighborhood groups and the business community to leave their organizational silos, share information and work together to form a community wide strategy to eliminate blight and revitalize core Memphis neighborhoods.
