Landlords Head to Court: Tenant Law in real life

We all know about the Tennessee Landlord Tenant Act. Bucky will show us how it works in the courts.
We'll get the real story on landlord liability issues, abandonment. proper notices, lease provisions, dog bites, and what you need to do to protect yourself.

Bucky Philip has been a long-term MIG supporter and friend. His expertise in real estate law, Landlord -Tenant and litigation; is well known by many MIG members.  We have asked him to come and discuss things that as Landlords you may not want to hear about but you might need to be aware of to protect yourself.

 

He will be presenting cases that have started in the General Sessions court and gone to the Court of Appeals and in a few instances to the Supreme Court. Areas to be looked at will be Landlord liability for failure to make repairs, duty of a landlord in negligence cases, dog bite, proper notices, abandonment, holding over, lease provisions, options to purchase, sale of rental property  . And if time permits questions from the floor.
